Do I need council approval for a deck?

Many decks fall under exempt development and don’t require approval, particularly ground-level decks under a certain height and area. We’ll advise you exactly where your project sits and handle any DA or CDC applications required.

How long does a typical deck build take?

Most standard decks are completed in 3–7 working days from groundbreaking. Larger or more complex builds may take longer, we’ll give you a clear timeline in your quote and stick to it.

What’s the difference between composite and hardwood?

Hardwood looks and feels natural, and lasts a very long time with regular maintenance (oiling/sealing). Composite requires almost no maintenance and won’t splinter ideal for families with kids. We’ll walk you through the pros and cons at your consultation.

Can you add stairs, privacy screens, or lighting?

Absolutely. Most of our deck projects include at least one of these additions. We quote all extras upfront so there are no surprises and we’ll make sure everything integrates cleanly into the overall build.
